In the process of becoming aware of it, it | ussually fades away. I just let it go and focus on what I | am doing. This is during meditation or during the day (when | I am actively doing something (reading, work, computer, etc)) fly on ceiling becomes floating eye-speck | Some other things that cause suffering though, only one: craving -- attaching to what is passing. sticking turbo-mouse | I can become aware of them... but keep thinking about them. obsession ensues | They keep slipping in. I try to "logically" [figure] it out. | "Is this my shadow? Is it something I did, or something the | other person did. Is it just inside my head or is there a | conflict here? etc, etc"... on and on. The more I think | about it, the more confusing it [usually] gets. If I | [choose] to let go, it [usually] comes back quickly. lockjaw pitbull ego | [Usually] it is things people say/do that causes some | emotion in me (angry, [fr]ustration, etc)... my (jungian) | shadow I assume. But not sure how to deal with them. keep practicing letting them go while watching them | [On] one hand, if I keep these thoughts/emotions around, | it waters the planets they have become. watering consists of treating particular thought and emotional trains as more important than others while sitting. sitting is not usually described as attempting to keep or reject thoughts or emotions; physical immobility reveals mind content clearly and becoming familiar with this internal condition may lead to greater composure, calmness, relaxation | But on the other | hand, if I just "let me go", does not the root just go | [dormant] until they are tiggered again? indeed, 'seasonal' regrowths recur with renewed strength during comparable stimuli. sitting doesn't change this directly, only subjective ability to let go of what appears instead of either trying to let go or retain feelings and thoughts, try watching more rhythmic or less motive aspects of subjective experience, such as breathing; relaxation of limbs, diaphragm, jaw; or attending to posture and spine | How do I heal it, if I don't know what it is? | I think it is pain from the past spurting up, but how | do I heal that deep pain if I don't know where/why/what | it is growing from? you don't; healing takes place in hospitals, not zendos. all the same, sitting with pain without trying to heal may lead to relaxation necessary for repair | It feels like a darkness inside me, fighting me, trying to | tear me from the inside out. DEMON MARA!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Any suggests? breathe, count breaths to four and return to one | I know suffering for what it is, and it is all around me. clever in our knowledge, putting on hundreds of glasses | I know freedom for what it is, but only rarely vist. stepping into puddles, mistaking blood for spring water
