of *course*! if we weren't aligning with the unreliable we would not
 have to keep re-orienting to new desire-aims. the reliance upon the
 temporal, the changing, the conceptual, etc., rather than that which
 does not change: eternal principles if you will, is what gives some
 more scientific enterprises a leg up at steadying the tour a bit
