Satanism is different for different Satanists. only the really nasty orgSatanists all do the same things. as with numerous individuals I image the perception of where the power comes from in ritual varies considerably. given the predominant and popular atheistic slant of Satanists the typical is probably self-derived. the Satan I know is neither always powerful nor very communicative (understandably), though SHe is sentient in many ways known and unknown to me. SHe is wild nature and therefore incorporates or employs the forces allayed in Hir works. re invoking Satan: I ...invoke demons occasionally and Satan in particular by Hir names when I feel the desire/need. what does the invocation feel like to you? how does it appear to another? I tend to prefer to initiate the invocation while in the shower or out in the open air, at times in response to the white light obsessions of those around me. re the manifold multiplicity of Satanic form: beautiful. Satan seems more associated with the Many rather than the One, and as individualism is heavily emphasized, it is no surprise that we should find innumerable possibilities as you have described as regards form. I have drawn a revised Levi Baphomet which I set within a northern casement, along with many other demons and alchemical symbols of the Work. the EAFWS elemental attribution strikes me as supremely Christian in its attempt to separate out 'spirit' as a different 'element' in comparison to the material/metaphorical ancients. as I under- stand it, 'spirit' is the interior experience of sentience which certain composites of EAFW enjoy (subjectivity). it is no more another 'element' than is indulgence a sin. re the power in ritual invocations: do you identify a source for that power/energy? for some odd reason my dedication to Kali has been an important siva-sakti pairing with Satan in a framework normally reserved for Siva in traditional Hindu metaphysics. there are some distinct similarities of god and, at times, dedicants. I find it intriguing also to compare them to the Anima and Shadow, respectively, of Jungian psychology. blessed beast! ________________________________________________________________________ nocTifer: tyagi@houseofkaos.abyss.com --- http://www.abyss.com/tokus TOKUS-COE Office: 408/2-666-SLUG --- Mother Church (CoE) coe@netcom.com
