According to Professor R. C. Archibald, this book contains

describe what is now called Ònatural proportion" or "latent
geometry." CY

funerary-cemetery-burial sites, vernacular architecture, symbolic landscaping, ley lines, metrology, religion,
myth, folklore, religious iconography, number symbolism, occultism, UFOs, Atlantis, sacred site tourism, medieval, renaissance, modern, Europe
Comment:
A "freak of nature" by which five hilltops near
Rennes-le-Chateau, France, form a perfect pentagon leads the
author to concoct a grand stew of megaliths, Visigoths, Knights
Templar, Cathars, and Albigensians (see David Wood); sacred
metrology and numerology (see Michell); the geometry of Poussin's
"Shepherds of Arcadia" (see Bouleau and Schama); an eccentric and
ultimately wealthy 19th century priest; and a cabal of dotty old
neo-fascists with monarchist pretensions and a gift for
ciphering. To be fair, Lincoln only mentions UFOs and Atlantis to
disavow them, but on the other hand, he earlier coauthored a book
that claimed Rennes-le-Chateau was the home of the offspring of
Mary Magdelene and Jesus Christ. CY
Comment:
The natural geometry of the place is fascinating and it may
have been known and enhanced by builders in the past, but Lincoln
engages in a lot of fingerpainting. I also question his
contention that such natural alignments are all that rare. BC
