HOW TO CONTACT MEMBERS OF THE YRONWODE FAMILY

Hi,

Although my husband siva and i have more than 5,500 web pages online, there are only two of us writing and archiving the Lucky Mojo web sites. We get more than 30,000 hits per day from about 11,000 individual users -- and i am therefore personally overwhelmed with e-mail, as you might imagine.

I'm sorry to have to do this, but in order to streamline my e-mail procedures, i'd like you to find the category below that applies to your interest and read the instructions on the best way to get the information you need off my web pages or to contact me personally regarding that particular topic.

FINDING THE WEB PAGES YOU WANT

Before you contact us asking for help, make sure that your question hasn't already been answered on one or more of our thousands of web pages. There are many domains to search through:

Lucky-Mojo-Pookline

Search All Lucky Mojo and Affiliated Sites!

You can search our sites for a single word (like archaeoastronomy, hoodoo, conjure, or clitoris), an exact phrase contained within quote marks (like "love spells", "spiritual supplies", "occult shop", "gambling luck", "Lucky Mojo bag", or "guardian angel"), or a name within quote marks (like "Blind Willie McTell", "Black Hawk", "Hoyt's Cologne", or "Frank Stokes"):

CORRESPONDING ABOUT THE LUCKY W AMULET ARCHIVE

IDENTIFYING AND USING AMULETS

If you have a question about how to use a particular good luck charm or amulet, i hope that you first checked the Lucky W Amulet Archive, (which also has a great search engine) at
            http://www.luckymojo.com/luckyw.html

If an amulet was not listed or mentioned there, i suggest you ask about it in the newsgroup devoted to the subject:
            alt.lucky.w
which i read and post to almost daily. Posting a question there may also garner you replies from other people interested in folk-magic who also read that newsgroup.

BUYING UNLISTED AMULETS

If you want to buy an amulet shown in the Lucky W Amulet Archive but not offered for sale at the Lucky Mojo Curio Co., i cannot help you. The items shown in the Lucky W Amulet Archive were collected by me throughout my lifetime and many are antiques or one-of-a-kind pieces. Any amulets and religious goods that are for sale by the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. will be listed on the Lucky Mojo Amulets and Holy Cards pages at
            http://www.luckymojo.com/mojocatamulets.html
and
            http://www.luckymojo.com/mojocatholycards.html

PRICE VALUES FOR OLD LUCKY TOKENS, COINS, AND AMULETS

Antique amulets have no set price values as they vary so much in style, age, and the materials from which they were made.

Non-monetary lucky "coins" or tokens are more standardized, but i don't know of a price guide that covers them. When it comes to pricing, these general guidelines may be of help: Lucky tokens made of brass or copper from 1910 through 1950 sell at ebay auction (www.ebay.com) at prices ranging from $5.00-$20.00 depending on their condition and the quality of the image and elongated pennies and encased coins usually sell for $2.50 - $5.00. Remember, the price a dealer pays you will be about 1/2 the stated retail price and dealers grade very strictly on condition. Good luck!

If you want to sell a brass or copper lucky token of the early to mid 20th century or any sort of amulet that you know i collect, i may indeed be interested, but i cannot buy sight-unseen and i don't accept material sent on approval. Please post a picture of the item at your web site (sending pictures in email wastes my download time) and email the URL to
            collectibles@luckymojo.com

If you wish to auction such an item through ebay.com, let me know at the same email address when it goes up for bid, along with the item number, and i will very likely place a bid on it.

PRICE VALUES FOR OLD COMICS AND TRADING CARDS

I am often asked for help identifying and pricing collectibles. Here is my best advice:

Prices of collectables vary based on age, rarity, and condition.

To determine current retail prices of any collectable, consult an appropriate price guide, such as Overstreet's (for comic books) or Non-Sports Update (for non-sports trading cards).

CORRESPONDING ABOUT CO-MASONRY

Although i am a Co-Mason, my web page is not officially sponsored by any Freemasonic organization and i do not maintain a list of Co-Freemasonic lodges.

However, i can point you in the direction of the AFHR (American Co-Masonry) and they can answer any questions you have about their lodges. Their web page is:
            http://www.co-masonry.org
and their e-mail address is
            afhr@co-masonry.org

Or, if International Co-Freemasonry is your choice, i can point you to the web site they maintain at
            http://www.droit-humain.org/ukmonde.htm

If you are trying to research the history of a Masonic or Co-Masonic ancestor or relative, please do not contact me. Here's my best advice on how to proceed: Most Freemasonic lodges keep permanent membership rolls and even attendance records, some of them stretching back to the 1700s. If your ancestor was a member, the dates should be easy to research, but you will need to know the name of the lodge of which your ancestor was a member. Contact the lodge directly. If you are unsure of the name of the lodge, or if the lodge has disbanded and cannot be reached through the telephone directory for that city, contact the Grand Lodge or Supreme Council of the state or nation in question. To obtain a world-wide that includes many but not all such bodies, go to:
            http://www.masonic.org/

If you wish to drop me a hostile note about Freemasonry in general or Co-Freemasonry in particular, please send it to
            brokenstones@luckymojo.com

CORRESPONDING ABOUT TANTRA AND SACRED SEX

If you read my essays at tantra.org or the Sexuality Library mirror-site, you will have only seen a few of my writings on the subject and you may be interested to know that my own site, Sacred Sex, contains many more essays. Topics not mirrored at all the other sites include lengthy descriptive pages on male control of orgasm, the function of the clitoris, historical research on 19th century American sacred sex practices, and more. The URL is
            http://www.luckymojo.com/sacredsex.html

I am not a teacher of these practices and i am not a sex therapist.

I do not maintain a list of tantra yoga or neo-tantra teachers in the USA or any other countries. You may, however, find links to some teachers via my web page "Links to Other Web Sites about Tantra, Karezza, and Sacred Sex" at
            http://www.luckymojo.com/tkwebsites.html

As the child of a book dealer-librarian, who got my first exposure to this subject through reading about it, i believe that if you study tantra from books, you will have good results ... unless you believe in a literal hierarchy of "lineage," in which case, you will not be satisfied until you meet a guru. Personally, i believe that what we call "tantra" has in some form existed since the neolithic era. Therefore i believe that any human being can have access to its benefits, without the need for a guru or teacher. The Indian form of sacred sex practice, called tantra yoga, is only one path, in my opinion. You may be able to find a copy of "Tantra: The Cult of the Feminine" by Andre van Lysebeth and it will indicate to you some of the traditional Indian practices as well as non-Indian forms of sacred sexuality such as Karezza (Magnetation) as propounded by Alice Bunker Stockham and John William Lloyd.

Unfortunately, due to the duties of my regular work and the sheer number of requests i receive for personal correspondence on this subject, i cannot engage in e-mail dialogue at this time. However, for ongoing world-wide discussions on the subject of sacred sex, in which i am a regular almost-daily participant, you might enjoy subscribing to the usenet newsgroup
            alt.magick.tantra

If your isp does not carry it, just ask them. Before posting to the newsgroup, it would probably be a good idea to read the alt.magick.tantra FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). It is archived on the web at
            http://www.luckymojo.com/altmagicktantrafaq.html

CORRESPONDING ABOUT SACRED LANDSCAPE AND GEOMETRY

If "earth mysteries" and "sacred architecture" interest you, you might want to subscribe to the Sacred Landscape e-list. Instructions and a one-step clickable button to subscribe can be found at
            http://www.lucky.com/subscribe.html

This is the most reliable forum through which i may be contacted on the subject, as i am unable to respond to email otherwise due to the duties of my regular work and the sheer number of requests i receive for personal correspondence.

If you are contacting me about Graham Hancock, I have nothing additional to say in regard to him beyond what appears on my web pages at:
            http://www.luckymojo.com/hancocklecture.html
and
            http://www.luckymojo.com/biblioh.html

CORRESPONDING WITH CATHERINE YRONWODE

PERSONAL CORRESPONDENCE

You can read my current and continually updated autobiographical summary at
            http://www.luckymojo.com/cat.html

Unfortunately, due to the duties of my regular work and the sheer number of requests i receive for personal correspondence, i cannot engage in e-mail dialogue with you, UNLESS --

-- unless you are an old friend or fellow communard from my past who has found me on the net. If so, please email my "old friends and fellow communards address" --
catherine at sign yronwode dot com

I may not reply promptly and i may be a sporadic correspondent, but i will not ignore letters from old friends and fellow communards, so please do write!

Better, though, would be to telephone me. I am generally available Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 Pacific time at 707-887-1521. Be sure to ask for catherine and tell whomever answers the phone that you are an old friend or fellow communard.

USENET CORRESPONDENCE

If you want to correspond with me in usenet, you can usually catch up with me -- and other like-minded people -- in the following usenet newsgroups:
alt.magick.tantra (tantra yoga, karezza, sacred sex)
            alt.magick.tyagi (magic and mysticism)
            alt.fan.kali.astarte.inanna (and Siva too!)
alt.lucky.w (folk magic, charms, and amulets)
alt.religion.orisha (Santeria, Ifa, hoodoo, Voodoo, and Palo)
alt.religion.voodoo (African, Haiitian, and US Voodoo)
            alt.paranormal.spells.hexes.magic (exchange of spells)
            alt.occult.methods (techniques of occult practice)
            alt.fan.ceiling (ceiling fans)
            alt.fan.dr-bronner (Dilute! Dilute! OK!!)
            rec.arts.wobegon (A Prairie Home Companion)

I read these newsgroups almost every day and usually devote one hour per day to posting replies to questions and engaging in dialogue with people there. If you want to be really sure to get my attention in usenet, put the name "cat yronwode" in the subject line.

E-LIST CORRESPONDENCE

In addition to usenet, i also hang out in three e-mail lists:
            sacredlandscapelist@yahoogroups.com (sacred landscape, geometry, etc.)
            prewarblues@lists.yahoogroups.com (older acoustic blues music)
            Freemasonry-List@Masonic.ORG (freemasonry of all types)

I read these e-lists in digest form nearly every day, but i don't post as often as i do in usenet.

VISITING ME

You can come by and visit me in the store, if you want to. Road maps, directions, and the best times to show up can be found at:

WEB PAGE FEEDBACK

COMMENTS ABOUT MY WRITING

If you send me a comment about my writing or the site in general to
            comments@luckymojo.com
i'll read your letter with interest, but i probably will not have time to reply. Thank you in advance for taking the time to let me know what you like (or don't) at the site. It means a lot to me to know that people read and appreciate what i write. Your comments are my reward for the work i do on the web, and they encourage me to add more information to the site on a regular basis. Feel free to inform others about my site if you like.

WEB SITE FUNCTIONALITY SUGGESTIONS

If you have a suggestion for repairing broken links, fixing typos, upgrading our html, or updating data on our web pages, please send these to
            suggestions@luckymojo.com
and we'll consider them carefully.

PERMISSIONS

WOULD YOU LIKE TO LINK TO MY SITE?

If you wish to create a link to any of our web pages (my essays, our archives and/ or our commercial sites and online catalogues), please feel free to do so.

Each of our sites has its own small logo gif which you can borrow if your link-list features illustrations. For instance, you can use the small graphic of the "Good Luck" Horseshoe to mark a link to the Lucky W Amulet Archive or the small graphic of the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. logo to link to our catalogue pages. Good luck with your site!

Unfortunately, i cannot create a link to your web site at this time. The effort it takes us to maintain almost 5,000 informational and archival web pages, for which we are not recompensed, necessitates that i minimize our updating of pages containing nothing but links to other people's pages. Since i first created some of my link-list pages in 1995, the web has grown to a remarkable size, and the efficiency of new search engines, such as google.com, has grown to meet it. Therefore, i am no longer actively seeking to add links to my web pages but merely pruning off dead links about once a year.

If you do create a link from your site to one of my pages, please drop me a note at
            suggestions@luckymojo.com
and suggest that i check it out.

REPRODUCTION OF MY COPYRIGHT WRITING

The material at the Lucky Mojo site is protected by copyright (as stated at the bottom of each page) and all rights are reserved.

You are free to print out one copy of my writing for your personal use. If you want to use it for more than this or to make more copies, please contact me via email at
            suggestions@luckymojo.com
and explain why you wish to reproduce my writing or graphics and how you intend to recompense me. I am willing to make all kinds of financial and barter deals regarding reproduction of my writing, but i do not allow unauthorized web-mirroring, print reproduction, or electronic reproduction. I also do not allow my work to be plagiarized or placed on other web sites with my credits or the credits of my fellow-contributors removed.

REPRODUCTION OF MY TRADEMARKED LABELS AND LOGOS

The artwork for The Lucky Mojo Curio Co. labels is protected by US trademark. You cannot use it on products that you manufacture for sale.

If you wish to contact me about arranging for special use of my label art (as was done when my labels appeared on the cover and in the booklet of a blues CD by a British guitarist), please drop a note to
            suggestions@luckymojo.com
and explain why you wish to reproduce my label graphics and how you intend to recompense me, so that we can negotiate a financial or barter deal. I can tell you for starters that no matter how the "recompense" end of things is worked out, i will ask you to acknowledge in print that the label is a trademark of the Lucky Mojo Curio Co.

Okay, that's it. All contingencies have been dealt with, i hope.

Once again, i am sorry for the impersonality -- and great length -- of this letter, but circumstances have made it necessary. I hope you understand. Please don't think i am trying to shut anyone out -- i just have limited time for e-mail and if i can help you some other way than by e-mail, then we'll both be satisfied.

Cordially,

cat yronwode
