SILK BROCADE DOUBLE-DRAWSTRING BAG
from NEPAL
Although red flannel is the most traditional and popular cloth for making
a mojo bag or conjure hand
for use in hoodoo rootwork,
small silk brocade bags have been marketed to the African American magical
community under the name "Chinese Fortune Bags" since the 1920s and find much
favour for carrying amulets and small curios such as a single
Buckeye Nut or
High John the Conqueror Root.
These 3" x 3" double-drawstring half-circle-shaped bags are deisigned in
the Himalayan two-tone style and hand-made in Nepalfrom assorted silk and gold brocades woven
in China and India. Colors vary widely as these bags are
made from scrap cloth, and therefore we cannot guarantee any
specific colour, although you can ask.
