Of the four members, |that his is the _only_ real rune used, it is the others that were created |for the album. That |symbol is more like the currently common symbol for women (a circle on |top of a cross, also the symbol for venus) with the addition of "horns." |It does have a minor resemblance to the symbol for Jupiter. |> Here's the best ASCII representation I have come up with... |> __ |> _________ / \ |> / \ / /\ \ |> Shoulder->/________ / ____ / / /_/ ____ |> / / / __ \ \ \ / __ \ |> / / / / _\ \___\ \____/ /_ \ \ |> Arm-> / / | | |__ _____ ___ __| | | |> / / \ \__/ / \ \ \ \__/ / |> / / \____/ __ \ \ \____/ |> / / / / / / |> / / \ \/ /olomon |> Elbow-> / \ \__/ _ |> \ \ ______ // |> \ \ ____ /_ __/ // |> \ \ / __ \ | | // <--Key |> \ \/ / \ \________| |____________// |> \ _\ / ________________________/ |> \ \__/ / |> Hand-> \ / |> \____/ |That is about as close a rendition as you can get with ascii...and a very |nice job too! Lettering added to TTIGER's ASCII representation by me. This looks as though it may be a refernce to S.L.MacGregor Mathers "The Key of Solomon the King" (Clavicula Salomonis). The bottom ten lines or so resemble some antique keys, the "zoso" includes the "S" of Solomon and a glyph that *could* be another "key." The leftmost portion seems as though it *might* be an arm and hand. I can not find anything in the book which shows a close resemblance to the image presented here (I have not seen the album cover). Incidentally, this does not look like *any* runes which I have seen. |For those who aren't familiar with the album, or have forgotton, the |band members "runes" are as follows: |Jimmy Page; guitarist, producer, music writer; as shown above. |Robert Plant; singer, song writer; a feather in a circle A feather in a circle is an old symbol for a scribe, very appropriate for a songwriter, or any other writer. It is used by the USN as a badge for an NCO whose duties involve record keeping (yeoman) (actually, I think that uses *crossed* feathers). The symbolism stems from the use of feathers as pens prior to the invention of steel-nib pens in the 18th century. B*B PeriMage * OLX 2.1 TD * We prove with logic, discover with intuition.
