there are a number of types of 'geomancy', East (feng shui) and West (often
just 'geomancy'). they are all forms of divination in which configurations
of objects or dots display to the reader a certain meaning. in the case of
the East this appears to amount to a type of 'spatial arrangement' such that
beneficent forces and configurations of living conditions can be used to
promote one's health and welfare. I have never heard the Western version
described as to its best application, though its form appears to be an
important element of the Golden Dawn and general ceremonial traditions.

this is the Western version, yes. often with some sort of stick, a whole
bunch of holes, which would be interpreted as to their overall configuration.
there are other methods described in popular books, however.

this could relate to any generic type of 'geomancy'. biological features,
geologic, botanical, even atmospheric if you want to get loose.

again, the Western variety. the East seems to focus less on discerning a
kind of 'communication to the reader' and instead a 'reading of the current
forces now in effect at this location'.
