Changing the art to that extent would be an atrocity, in my opinion. I
still haven't reconciled to the changes Albano made in the Waite deck.

There have been alterations in some editions of the Thoth Deck, notably a
change of attributions printing on the bottom of the cards in at least one
European edition. Nothing very major in that, the symbols were reversed
left to right on two or three cards.

In the first color edition, mid 1970's e.v., the Ace of Disks was printed
upside down in the frame. The number in the middle came out as "999".

Depends on the mistakes, and it's the owner, not the publisher, who would
have to make that decision. Typo's in text are one thing. An alteration
in the balanced composition of a graphic artist is a very different thing.
The deck is not only Crowley's. It's Frieda's hand that did the images
that are so popular, not Crowley's. When I composed Crowley's notes for
the Greek Qabalah, I retained note of the math errors. In that case, it
was important to see what mistakes Crowley may have included in subsequent
writings and ideas. What's next with Thoth? Painting out the buttocks and
prick on the Devil Atu? Once you start something like this, where does it
end?

Not the old Albano of the Heptameron, some fellow who altered the
Rider Pack to include some of Case's colors plus a couple of graphics
changes around 1970 e.v.

Do'n straight man these days, Josh?
