One of the most interesting scrying mirrors I have is made from a cheap
magnifying mirror, bought at a discount store. It's about six inches
wide. I dismounted it from its plastic surround, took the silver off
the back with a combination of paint remover and gentle steel wool
scraping (really cleaning it well, nice and transparent) and then
sprayed the cleaned side with a couple of layers of flat black enamel.
I mounted it with hot glue on a black painted triangle made of
masonite, just to protect it. The masonite has a hole in one of the
apexes, through which I've threaded a loop of black twine.

This I wear over head and shoulder so it hangs at my side. On a trip
through a dark wood - or your available equivalent - this is a handy
tool to have, to stop and meditate and veiw the astral scene around.

Just remember to blacken the convex side, not the bowl face -

Walk in Brightness, everywhere
