A channel of force is prepared which is receptive and especially
suitable to the influence of the divine forces, the deific force will
most often manifest in some way. This is true if the magician has
made preparations within himself prior to attempting the same in
outward ritual. That the magician has decided to invoke the deity's
force of course means he has made an INTENTIONAL decision toward some
intentional end, even if it be simple communion or illumination [which
has a purpose of inner transformation].

Religious worship is quite an effective way of maintaining an
egregore. If it is intentionally done with this purpose in mind it
becomes a magickal act.

The priest DOES act [during transubstantiation] as Christ in the Mass,
as he does in confession, but those are the only two times in the
Sacraments. The mage celebrating the mass resides in the Body of
Christ. The Holy Spirit resides within the Mage [Priest]. This is in
no way a generally heterodox idea, as it was what I was taught in 8
years of Catholic school.

Of course, running through the Qabalistic model, the divine Atziluthic
aspects are present in the deific [Briatic] force as well as
ourselves. So the life, the very essence of the god, resides in both.
The Tree as Man, etc.
O you powers within me
Hymn the one and the all
Chant in harmony with my will
All you powers within me
Holy gnosis
illuminated by you
through you I hymn the light of thought
I rejoice in the joy of the mind
All you powers, chant with me
