93 all,
> >Does everyone have to write one?

Here's my story about a time in my life when I was writing this kind of
thing. True confessions of a Middle Pillar weenie a good friend of mine
would probably say. I think that if you keep a magical record and persue a
regular course of magical experiment, you're probably going to get
something similar, but I have no way of really verifying that. This was
during a period of personal 'Tipharetic' invocations

The act of becoming receptive following such invocations sometimes
resulted in an almost immediate stream of words which I could barely write
fast enough to keep up. The content was almost always similar. My
handwritting would change such that I could actually scan through my
record and easily pick out those types of entries. The messages often had
a kind of 'prophetic' language, often built around multiple meanings and
paradoxical phrases.

Usually there were passages that at first seemed unintelligible and were
only meaningful when 'interpreted' whether by Gematria, association, or
even by phonetic relationships. Often I would find bits and pieces of
other 'Holy Books' such as Liber AL creeping in, usually twisted a bit
into some other use. Much of the material delt with important issues
going on in my life reflected in this kind of pseudo-prophetic
spirit-language which at one point a dubbed 'common sense' in a kind of
Spare-ian sense.

After a while it seemed like I could quite possibly just keep writting
until I filled up as many pages as I wanted to. At that point I sort of
reevaluated what the heck I was doing. Taken as a whole the information
wasn't all that profound, and was more of a regurgitation of a certain
part of my conciousness than a special communication from something true
praeternatural or the founding of a new religion.

Also at times I would try to act on information presented in this way,
only to find that while sybolicly it was valid, I didn't really have an
infallible avenue to manifest these things no matter how lofty and
profound I thought it was. If this was my "True Will" it wasn't going to
be quite as easy as the Universe falling all over itself to grant it.

It occured to me then then that perhaps there was a more important point.
What all this had done was open up a deeper connection to that part of my
conciousness and made it a lot more easily available. It's better use
wasn't so much to grind out reams of questionable prohecies and poetry,
although that is useful at times, but more importantly to have on hand and
at my aid, my own intuition and spiritual rudder or guide.

OK, thats enough true confessions, back to your regularly scheduled flame
war.
