Chambers book was originally published in the 1890's, and is well worth the read if you can borrow a copy or obtain a later reprint. The originals sell for outlandish prices. The academic interest as to why and how the later upright and stolid Chambers could write such a book, which reeks of derangement and imagination, is of limited appeal.
