Rather than simply deconstructing the simple banishing and energizing rites, you might find it a bit more fruitful (if you are attempting to show how "imitative" the Aurum Solis is) to look at the actual meet of the rites. What about the Magician formula or that of the Watcher? What about the Gnostic? What about the consecration rites for the tools? What about the recently published consecration rites for a Temenos or Telestarion or the rites for each of the Three Halls? You are picking the simplest of the A.S. rites with the most obvious links to G.D. stuff (never denied on at least one level by myself) and then drawing your conclusions from it. You'd be better off looking at the rest of our rites, which are quite different than any of the Golden Dawn's work. Al
