Far from being a member of the supposed "International Jewish Conspiracy", Eshelman is director of the College of Thelema - so he is in no way criticising 777 out of malice! I don't know what Catherine may be remarking, but there are many errors in Liber 777. Broadly: 1. Typo's. Although the 1st edition is pretty reliable, later editions tend to be re-set and often have quite a few errors in the Hebrew texts. Typically, this involves the type setter mistaking a Hay for a Chet, a Vau for a Yod, Kaf for Bet and similar. 2. Golden Dawn and other source material errors, some blinds. Quite often two entries are switched in the correspondences. This is the case for the Banners of the Name and the Shem-ham-phorash columns. This is also an issue for the planetary correspondences across all columns, since that part was not reliably taken from the Sepher Yetzirah. 3. Differences in theory or number of association elements. The column of the Souls omits "Guf", the physical body. That of the Chakras is based on a Theosophical theory that Crowley himself may have later abandoned -- not really error so much as variation. 4. The handling of rows 15 and 28 varies across columns in later versions (mostly reprints of selections in other books than Liber 777), since Crowley's notion of the Hay-Tzaddi relation leads people to try to "rectify". 5. Matters of opinion, where Crowley gave his in a column and others may feel differently -- most notable in the association of the magical instruments and in the various ethnic pantheons, drugs and similar things. Not really an error. More broadly, the Tarot Associations are those of the Golden Dawn (mostly) and do not reflect an established order across different schools of thought. Application error is also an issue. Some columns do not go well with other columns -- that is to say, if you are using something like the Pairs of Angels ruling suits and the Grades of the Order, it really doesn't make all that much sense in that combination. All columns base on the Hebrew letters plus Sephirot. Any other pair of column associations should be considered more carefully to reckon if it makes sense. There are also errors in Sepher Sephirot, sometimes printed with Liber 777 as "The Qabalah of Aleister Crowley". Those are a few Hebrew spelling errors and addition mistakes. Crowley does consider "1" a prime number, contrary to the common usage of mathematics -- that leads to some obscurity in reckoning primes in sequence (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.). Variations in English meanings of the Hebrew words are sometimes a problem, but that borders on opinion/usage in a particular tradition. I have a short list of errata for Sepher Sephirot at: http://www.cityol.com/heidrick/tlc1991/tlc1191.htm#fob Home page for that site: http://members.aol.com/bheidrick 93 93/93 Bill heidrick@well.com
