He said this is in response to the suggestion made by seasoned campaigner against witchcraft, Dr Samaram. Speaking at an awareness programme on banamati organised by the Ranga Reddy police at the newly constructed Yacharam police station, Goud said the police should also play an active role in countering regressive practices such as banamati.
