Hail Satan! Hail Yes! Delila : > It's a pain in the ass! Everytime the phone rings and someone asks for >(insert name) I have to ask "The older one or the younger one?" If it's >correspondence by mail, often they don't bother to put the "Jr." after >the name, so the father opens it. There can be many other mix-ups. So >it's better to give the son his own, different first name. I'm so sorry you had difficulties. my brother and father had the same birth name, but my father went by his middle name anyway, so there was never a problem. my mother called my brother by a diminuitive until he was older, never a conflict; father and son haven't been close. I think it has the capacity to ennoble or shame the participants in the relationship (imagine three all called by the same name! there are probably families like that), depending on their personal compatibility. having the same name as someone can be a powerful linking mechanism, whether this be first or last (or other) names. when I lived with my wife and brother we adopted the same last name as pseudonyms and felt closer by it from what I experienced. I have named magical tools the same successive names. for 10 years or so I had a series of staves named 'Lamed' (because of the shape of the (often drift) wood). I used them in rituals at sabbatic and solitary purpose and burned all (until this last) with great love in my heart. I don't know if my current ritual staff has a name. she's just standing steady in a spiral of the house (in this case directly behind Kali on my altar and next to the scripture). she is a redwood limb found Santa Cruz area, 7 feet lovely. occasionally I have hiked with her and once or twice in ritual. she is exceedingly sound and pure. I love her well. blessed beast! nagasiva -- emailed replies may be posted ----- "sa avidya ya vimuktaye" ----- "that which liberates is ignorance" http://www.luckymojo.com/nagasiva.html hoodoo catalogue: send postal address to catalogues@luckymojo.com
