I agree that examinations of this kind may be beneficial, but I'm not sure that the claims and outrageous expectations reside with folk magic. one might follow out all magical enterprise to find the astounding claims by mages. # ...many people are attached to my opinions .... not me. I like it when you talk about magic from the perspective of using it yourself, describing your results, estimating likely avenues of success and possible routes of challenge or danger. your contentions about certain types of magic I find less balanced and more prone to reactive positions, somewhat comparable to ones I've adopted in response to Hermetic magicians through the years.
