Message-ID: <20010206212228.27536.00002202@ng-cg1.aol.com> Xref: typhoon.sonic.net alt.paranormal.spells.hexes.magic:28526 I just bought a book (out of curiosity as to what the enemy is up to) titled "The AntiChrist 666", published by a company called TEACH Services, which is basically propaganda claiming that all pagan religions are inventions of Satan, and that all the artifacts of ancient civilizations such as the Maya and the Aztecs are not really ancient, but recently-made objects meant to deceive the faithful. It also claims that the Roman Catholic Church is the seat of the AntiChrist [I AM inclined to agree with that... ;)] The whole text would be funny if it weren't so downright scary! But the point I really wanted to make was that this book states that the Ten Commandments given in the King James (i.e. Protestant) Bible is NOT the same as those given in the Roman Catholic Bible. I was raised Catholic, and am now in recovery [:)], but I never really noticed the difference in the two until I read through this little book. Here are the Ten Commandments as given in the King James Bible, in Exodus 20:3-17: 1. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. 2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image... (abbreviated for sake of space) 3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain... 4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy... 5. Honour thy father and thy mother... 6. Thou shalt not kill. 7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. 8. Thou shalt not steal. 9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 10. Thou shalt not covet... anything that is thy neighbour's. The Catholic version, the one I grew up with, is this: 1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before Me. 2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. 3. Remember thou keep holy the Sabbath day. 4. Honour thy father and thy mother. 5. Thou shalt not kill. 6. Thou shalt not commit adultery. 7. Thou shalt not steal. 8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife. 10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's goods. Looks like the Catholics dropped the original second commandment as stated in Exodus so that they could have their statues of Jesus, Mary, the saints, etc., and they split up the original tenth commandment to fill the quota. Just goes to show how "organized religion" is not really far from "organized crime". How can ANY intelligent person swallow any of the bull$hit of ANY Xtian religion?? I'll stay Pagan, thanks!
