It may be impossible to fully eradicate this bias until other terms such
as "sinister" (derived from the Latin "sinistral", meaning (what else?)
"left-handed") are purged from the language.

Also "gauche" (French for "left", if memory serves; also means "tasteless"
in English) and "adroit" (French for right; also implies dexterous or
flexible).

'Tis a sinister plot, this gaucheness of the otherwise adroit
English language... :-)
