The statistical list of religious affiliations given at http://www.adherents.com/Religions_By_Adherents.html was just revised -- as was the entire text essay on African religions. I received notice of this from the web master today. The previous number given was 20 million for "Yoruba Religion" and "Yopruba Religion" was in 9th place worldwide. The new figure for African Traditional and Diasporic Religion is 95 million people worldwide. This puts African religion in 8th place worldwide. The increase from 20 million "Yoruba" to 95 million "African" came about by subtracting 75 million African Traditional adherents from the lumped-together group "primal/indigenous" and placing them with African Diasporic religions in the new African Traditional and Diasporic category, in accordance with the sorting principle used at DMOZ.) Neo-Paganism (including "Magick" [Thelema], Wicca, Asatru, et al) remains in 18th place with 1 million self-declared adherents. Just though y'all might like to know. cat yronwode Hoodoo in Theory and Practice -- http://www.luckymojo.com/hoodoo.html
