To be a Christian you have to believe that Jesus Christ was the (one?)
Son of God, God incarnate, for example. That's official doctrine.
Second, you are supposed to use his teachings as recorded in the New
Testament as a guideline for living. That's Christian doctrine. It
exists. To the best of my knowlege, all Christian churches agree on at
least that much. That's what unites them under the name, "Christian".

Mormons (First Church of Christ of Latter-Day Saints) are Christians
who added to canon an extra book, the book of Mormon. Believing in the
revealed truth in the book of Mormon is what makes you a Mormon
Christian. Among their particular revelations is that polygamy is OK.
So yes, not *all* Christians eschew multiple relationships. They have
suffered persecution for attempting to live their beliefs...interesting
history there. They were quite unconstitutionally deprived of their
right to multiple marriages, in spite of the fact that it was in
accordance with their faith.
