This goes from the silly to the absurd. Well as long as we are
throwing out the baby with the bathwater, why not also point
out that you have to throw out:

The Cross as a symbol of Christianity. The bible doesn't mention
that the cross should be a symbol. In fact the first symbol for
Christians a greek acrostic for "fish" isn't in the bible either,
so throw that out as well.

Hymns. None of Bach's music is mentioned in the bible.
Polyphony is definitely out.

When you bring up things like holy water, you bring up
the absurd. When you bring up things like Cardinals,
you bring up the brecuratic, and when you bring up
the idea that Peter was never in Rome, you bring up
the unhistorical.

Mind you, Mary, the Pope, and Puragtory are all in scriptures.
For truth does not contradict truth, and the Church is the
pillar and foundation of truth.

But let's get back to the original topic, reading the Bible,
taking all of it to heart. If you believe in the bible, you
can not believe that anything not mentioned in the bible must
by definition be false. (The Bible Alone argument.) That is
clearly not scriptural. Paul tells those in his letters to
be faithful to the traditions which he has told them both
written and oral. So Paul gave them oral traditions, which
are therefore not written, and therefore not written in his
letters. We are also told that it is the Church which is
the pillar and foundation of truth. The Bible is truth,
but it's foundations lie in the church, take away the church
and you take away the Body of Christ, the cornerstone and
foundation on which the bible rests.
