Although Paul's "epistles" were largely concerned with "spreading the
message of christ" we must remember that back then, people knew the
difference between the words jesus, and christ. "christ" (derived from
gk: christos) simply means illuminated, or annointed. In that respect
one could say that Apollonius of Tyana was also illuminated, or
christ.
Now the Nazareans were not in fact exclusively followers of Jesus at
his supposed time...we remember that some 30,000 people were baptised
by John.
You are also confusing Paul with Peter. It was Peter who was the
Apostle of Circumsision, who is characterised in the Bible as
ignorant, cautious, insincere (denied Jesus 3 times)..who secretly, as
well as openly calumniated the epistles for containing what he called
"dysnoetic learning." Now Paul on the otherhand was the Apostle of the
Gentiles...outspoken, sincere, and very learned, especially in Greek
philosophy. to quote from 1 Corin. 3:10
"According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise
'master-builder', I have laid the foundation."
In using a term such as 'master-builder' (which is the only occurance
of the word in the bible) he is using a word pre-eminently kabalistic,
theurgic, and later masonic.

Further study will show that Paul understood much of the Bible as
allegorical:
1 Corinth 10:11 - (concering the story of Moses and the Israelites)
"All these things happened unto them for types"
Galatians 4:24 - "It is written that Abraham had two sons, the one by
a bond-maid, the other by a freewoman....which things are an allegory"
