The attendant was slow with the towels, the food was cold, he was spoken to rudely; but Mulla showed no irritation. When the time came to leave he left a whole gold dinar, a huge tip, and the attendants were amazed at his generosity. The following week, Nasrudin received the royal treatment from smiling, fawning attendants. He smiled and enjoyed himself, and when it was time to leave, the attendants lined up, expecting that this time their guest would be even more generous.
