Anyone can call themself a sufi, even a parrot can be trained to do this. A Real Sufi is that person able to provide real service to humanity. Such a person has a multitude of qualities: Love, patience, kindness, generosity, restraint, perception, realisation, spiritual power, wisdom, knowledge and so on. A mystic would also have these qualities but dependent on the path they belong to may have other qualities; with a different emphasis and expression. A mystic may also not be on a path or follow any religion. The secret saints operate in a way beyond peoples perception - which is normally based on gross qualities such as outer behaviour. When we develop the capacity to see these wonderful people, we begin to understand why it is said, 'Allah has hidden his Greatest Saints'.
