Siva (who is pasting up some comics right now) says we need to "taxonomize this subject" and is dictating this to me: 1) One soul, one body per incarnation, after a short period of time. 2) One soul with several unconnected bodies per incarnation, after a short period of time. Example: The Dali Lama. 3) One soul with several connected bodies per incarnation. Example: The Borg, Siamese twins, the Republican Party. 4) One body with several souls per incarnation. Examples: Multiple Personality Disorder, Midlife Crisis, Demonic Possession. 5) Recincarnation *backward* in time or "preincarnation" either one sould, one body or one soul, several bodies. Example 1: "I am a preincarnation of the Messiah of the Jews" (i.e. i won't be bringing about an apocalypse this time around). Example 2: "My husband and i are the dual preincarnation of the 132nd Dali Lama." 6) Reincarnation and preincarnation of inanimate objcts. Example 1: "I am a reincantation of a pair of scissors once owned by Aleister Crowley." Example 2: I am a preincarnation of a pair of scissors that will be owned by the 132nd Dali Lama." 7) If souls can incarnate into bodies, perhaps we can have "free-standing" souls without bodies. These might be ghosts (spirits of people who once lived) or spirits of people who never had bodies at all. 8) If souls can incarnate into bodies, perhaps we can have "empty" bodies -- bodies that contain no souls. Example: "George W. Bush is the soulless thrall of Alan Greenspan who, in turn, is the preincarnation of Aleister Crowley's scissors' future incarnation as a rock." cat yronwode The Mage's Guide to the Internet ------ http://www.luckymojo.com/magi No personal e-mail, please; just catch me in usenet; i read it daily.
