The same attitude can be expected of white Satanists as of black, and if the Blanch Barton quotation omitted any mention of the Satanist's race it would have been precisely as applicable to ANY Satanist. The only distinction is that in the black community, being so much smaller than the white community, the pressure of one's "brothers" to make an anti-social individual conform is even stronger than it is in the relatively fragmented and inchoate "white community." Thus it becomes all the more critical for a black Satanist to take his stance in opposition to that herd-mentality. In the black community, the oppression from outside has been used to solidify a sort of "groupism" that the (generic) "white" community has never faced (indeed, for which Satanism may have been invented.) On the other hand, perhaps blacks do not NEED a "Satanism" in order to solidify their oppositional stance to society at large. PJL
