I'd suggest that the following may clear it it quickly: FAQ: OrgSatanism History 1 Relation between CoS/ToS/LaVey/Aquino/etc.? * a group inclusive of LaVey founded the Church of Satan 1966. * members of the Church of Satan (whom I call CoSatanists) sometimes do and do not adopt LaVeyan ideology entire, and there have been membership terminations when differences became too pronounced. * Aquino and LaVey discovered differences of theology, Aquino founded ToS in 1975.
