Satanic Panic is of cause related to the old witchhunts, Christian claims against Jews, and Roman claims against Christians. And before that, even older claims. I have already covered this in another post under this subject. But the _term_ "Satanic Panic" is used to describe a specific phenomena, just like the witcchunts describe a specific phenomena. When we talk about a "Panic" we talk about widespread fear motivated actions and reaction in society. The Satanic Panic originated in the US with books like "Michelle Remembers" and "Sybil" being some of the first signs. - Corax
