The Council of Nine was enabling the Temple of Set and
the Hunts to proceed on incompatible ways: Setians may
enjoy the company of other Setians, and the Hunts may
enjoy the company of Scott Locklin. Everyone's happy.

Enemies can be multifaceted, including weak/powerful,
rude/polite, coarse/calculating, temporary/permanent,
overt/covert, and so forth. Some indeed can be persons
of integrity and conviction, sincerely feeling that the
Temple of Set is a "theological abomination to Allah or
Jesus", etc.

Locklin strikes me as a reasonably intelligent individual
who never learned and does not respect either good
manners or consideration for other people. Faced with
any inconvenience, his habitual response is a tantrum
of _ad hominem_ vulgarity. In this regard he is not
so much the Temple of Set's [or my] enemy as he is
his own.

In 1975 Anton LaVey made a Church of Satan policy
decision to sell its degrees, including the Priesthood of
Mendes III*. Lilith and I [not to mention almost all the
other Priesthood, Regional Agents, and active Satanists
throughout the Church] immediately and explicitly
resigned because of that decision.

Since then my comments concerning Anton and
the Church, finalized in _COS_, have been with the
specific purpose of setting the historical record straight
concerning the integrity and works of the authentic,
original 1966-75 Church, and to preserve the true
genius of Anton - and "the better angels of his nature",
which it was my privilege to appreciate 1969-75.

By contrast Hunt and Delf were expelled from the
Temple of Set by unanimous decision of the Council
of Nine for disgracing their Priesthood and Honorary
membership respectively. Neither voiced the slightest
criticism of any Temple of Set policy before their
expulsion, and both have since sought to denigrate
the Temple for no higher purpose than consolation
of their embarrassed egos.
