49990630 IVom Hail Bob!

hi glinda!

we met at Pantheacon where we were running nearby tables (I was at
the Lucky Mojo Curio Company table) and I told you that I would
email you with information about the Church of the Subgenius, who
to contact, etc. I've only got very old information, a number of
dead URLs (I think these people shift about alot ;>), but some of
the former may pan out for you. try it and let me know if it does.

----------------------------------------------

here are some initial tracks for you to follow
from http://.www.luckymojo.com/magi/magi.01

Subgenius
** io20650@maine.maine.edu (Church of Spam; S)
** SLACK@ncsu.edu (Holy Temple of Mass Consumption; P)
        (anon ftp: quartz.rutgers.edu /pub/journals/HToMC)
** houk@cs.athena.mit.edu (Moot News for Modern Man; P)
** request@fennec.sccsi.com (Worldview/Weltanschauung; P)
        (anon ftp: ftp.eff.org /pub/cud/wview)

Subgenius
** quartz.rutgers.edu /pub/subgenius/spam (Church of Spam)
        (Reference: io20650@maine.maine.edu)
** quartz.rutgers.edu /pub/subgenius -and- /pub/journals/HToMC
        (High Temple of Mass Consumption)
** mullet.gu.uwa.edu.au /pub/text/comment
(Travelling Scriptures of the Church of V/R)

---------------------------------------------------------------

also search on many of these names ("Church of Spam", "High Temple
of Mass Consumption", and especially "Church of Subgenius" and
just "Subgenius" and "Ivan Stang") in a popular search engine like
Lycos, Altavista or even Yahoo for additional material.

you might also look into the following usenet newsgroups for
contacts and posts that will lead you to information:

best:
alt.religion.subgenius
alt.slack
alt.fan.the-bob
alt.binaries.pictures.the-bob

maybe:
alt.legend.the-bob
alt.religion.subgenius.is.lame
alt.slack.goathead!
alt.stereo.cuddly.subgenii
alt.slack.sputum
alt.sex.fetish.the-bob
alt.bob.bring-me-a-goathead

a publisher which may have the original Subgenius printed
materials would be Loompanics or possibly Hell's Kitchen. if
neither of these is accurate and you can't find the text,
email me again and I'll try to dig one or two up for us in
another way. if you DO locate it, please let me know from
where you obtained it (I gather they are on their 3rd or
4th volume of the Subgenius manuals and I'd like to get the
entire set).

blessed beast!
