93,

Joe Larabell <z531217@SANAI.CTC.CITOH.CO.JP> writes,

>headed by < Soror Meral >, the world's oldest living OTO member.

The soror does not want her mundane name bandied about, last I heard.
She is the most tenured OTO member, having passed her Golden Jubilee
some years ago. However, she is not quite the oldest OTO member in
terms of years of life. Soror Grimaud, a former treasurer of old Agape
Lodge is still hale and hardy, although mostly retired from public life at
the present.

These worthy ladies of the OTO are a pride and joy. Thanks to Joe
for bringing up the point. Except for some mutual members, TOT and OTO
are unrelated and completely separate orders. Both the good sisters
corresponded with Crowley and knew notables of the Order first hand,
including Jayne Wolfe, Jack Parsons, W.T.Smith, Karl Germer, Louis Culling
and Grady McMurtry. Soror Meral in particular is responsible for working
with J.Wolfe to make typescrips of Crowley's later works -- without which
Vision and Voice, Magick without Tears and Liber Aleph would not have
been published in the final form, although the first was published earlier
without Crowley's detailed notes. Soror Grimaud continued publication of
Equinox Vol. III after the death of Fr. Saturnus, thereby fulfilling
a large portion of Crowley's intent to bring his "Chinese works" into
publication.
