It is uncertain whether there is any real connection between "babalon" and "Babylon", but the association makes a demented sort of sense when you think of the "Whore of Babylon", a Puritan epithet for the Catholic Church, which connects in turn with the Scarlet Woman of Revelations. 156 is also the number of squares in an Enochian "Elemental Tablet", 12 times 13.
