I thought she only wrote books!) from the perspective >of somone who practices Wicca? what about her books? > >thanks blessed beast! > >lorax666 Well, SilverRavenWolf has come under attack from both Wiccans and Non-Wiccans for marketing a "Teen-Witch spell kit". I have heard arguments from both critics and SilverRavenWolf herself (online not in person). Critics: 1.) The notion of condensing a religion into a spell kit cheapons the religion involved. 2.) The fact that she markets this kit specificly towards teens raises quite a few brows from both Wiccans and Non-Wiccans alike. The majority of Wiccans do not believe one should actively seek to "convert" others to the religion esp. those who are minors. Also many parents who are not Wiccan are upset that SilverRW seems to circumvent their authority in the matter. 3.) The items included in the spell kit are trivial. A pendulem, crystal, sea salt, Now you can practice Witchcraft!!! SilverRavenWolf's responce to the above (paraphrased): 1.) SilverRavenWolf practices eclectic wicca so therefore the personal attitudes toward this dont apply. Eclictic Wiccans draw upon many sources and cultures in forming their spiritual beliefs and practices. 2.) "Spirit" has told SilverRW that the youth of today need guidance and that a spell kit would be most appropriate. "Spirit" informs her this is o.k. despite what her critics say. 3.) The spell kit is designed for people who have little or no knowledge of Wicca. Therefore the items included will remain simple. I can tell you that you should probably read both the book "Teen-Witch" and the kit before making up your own mind concerning this issue. LuckyH.
