Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Status: RO McMurtry corresponded with H.P. Smith, Phyllis Seckler and M. Burlingame between 1961 and 1969. He learned about Germer's death in 1963 from Mildred Burlingame and wrote back to Ray & Mildred on October 25th 1963: he thanked them for letting him know about Germer's death, but admitted his life to be so hectic that "there is nothing I can do at the moment." In 1985, McMurtry openly lied to the Judge: A [McMurtry]. Mr Germer died in 1962, and I was in Washington, D.C. I was not informed until 1968. So there was nothing I could do. Q [Lawyer]. You do not know whether there were, say lodge meetings going on in England during that period, do you? A. I have been in the Order for 40 years. If there were members in England, I would know it. We would have been in correspondence. Q. You didn't know about Mr. Germer's death until six years after it happened? A. That is correct. More like seven.
