The ORANGE is a sub-tropical tree whose fruits have long been an article of global commerce as they are nutritious and high in Vitamin C, which helps prevent diseases such as scurvy and the common cold. The fragrant white blossoms of the ORANGE are traditionally worn in the crown-wreaths of brides on their wedding day, as a symbol of purity. ORANGE WATER has long been used to flavour delicate foods, especially sweetmeats intended for oneีs lover. Additionally, women bathe with ORANGE WATER to entice a man to marry, and witches set it out in altar bowls in honour of Hera and Juno, the ancient Goddesses of marriage, fidelity, and sacred union.
-- The Lucky Mojo Curio Co. catalogue
Orange Water is one of the most old-fashioned over-the-counter headache remedies that is still available in the USA. It is aso popular in Middle Eastern cooking. In addition to its traditional medicinal uses as an analgesic and refreshing wash, it may be added to the water used for rituals of foot-bathing, and it is a beautiful altar offering to any spirits, deities, or angels associated with water or with the moon.
Because of the association of the Orange Blossom wih marriage, Orange Water makes a fine libation to pour if one is celebrating a wedding.
4 Fluid Ounces. Sold as a Curio only.
