If the gambler and his sex partner retire to an alley to perform the act while the game is in progress, so much the better. This is called "feeding the mojo," and the use of the word "feed" is, of course an indicative link to African magico-religious thought, from whence this custom derives. (Lodestones are also "fed" in hoodoo -- with magnetic sand.) In European -- especially Italian -- folk magic, urine is used in women's coffee and tea love magic spells, but only as a quick substitute for the REALLY heavy item, menstrual blood. No ritual, prayer, or invocation is necesary; you simply add some menstrual blood, vaginal fluids, or urine to his coffee or tea. The idea is to get one's scent into the beloved's sphere of consciousness. This is nothing more or less than pheromone-magic, and as such it partakes of biology as much as it does of occultism. I always took it as his quirky sense of humor, and never followed it to the next conclusion that you could use menstrual blood in love spells. But on hindsight this seemed to be a very powerful thing to him as he swore he would never do it. But it was long ago and I can't recall the damn title. The novel was set during colonial times (USA) and the protaganist was a black slave woman. In the opening scene she was following a bunch of other people, moving the master's belongings somewhere or other. Then there was a slightly erotic description of her crouching and peeing in the street. Her soon-to-be lover (who was half native american) was much turned on by this...because the slave woman was sufficiently comfortable with her body and bodily functions that she was not embarrassed to crouch and pee in public. Maybe someone recalls the novel? It is likely a classic or minor classic. I just took it one step further and added the idea of urinating in the beloved's footprint. That IMO is just good magick. You need some sort of connection to make it work and a fooprint IMO is an excellent connection. In thistime and place its not really practical though as people leave so few bare footprints. I also know someone who did the menstrual blood in her "target's" coffee. She is italian-american. For instance, i have used it to dress lodestrones in spells for sexual attraction and bonding. In the African-American hoodoo tradition, as well as in Sicilian folk-magic, menstrual blood served to a man in his coffee or tea is a sovreign recipe for capturing his sexual attention. I have done this often, with uniformly good results. I have directly fed gobbets of menstruum to my lover, from my fingers, as one might feed a pet. This was done to bind him, but to avoid the sneakiness of slipping it into his drinks -- i want him to KNOW how much i want him to be mine, and to know that i am working the spell on him right out in the open. (As the old slogan for the Steak-and-Shake drive-in chain reads: "In sight -- it must be right!") Karezza is a sexual-metaphysical system in which intercourse during menstruation (not involving blood per se, but taking advantage of the woman's typically increased level of desire) is perceived as a "rite" in the mystical sense. One karezza writer, John William Lloyd, who advocated abstinence from orgasm, declared that during "the woman's time of great desire" (e.g. at the outset of her period) she should be allowed to have all the orgasms she wants and that the man should go along qwith her and come too. So Lloydrecognized the menstrual period as qualitatively different from the rest of the woman's cycle, in terms of the performance of a spiritual sex act. As a practitioner of karezza, i find Lloyd's advice valuable and am always glad when my partner follows it. I am focussed on sexual desire the first day of my period, and since i worship in a sexual-spiritual way, the lines of communication are definitely open! The frankest discussions of the uses of menstrual blood in magic will be found in ethnological treatises on folk-magic; the "ceremonial high magickians" of the late Victoriaan era (including Aleister Crowley and his cohorts) were too prudish to deal with this matter as anything other than an antinomian and rule-breaking rite. They found it exhilerating in proportion to the degree to which they judged it to be daring, provocative, and naughty. In folk-magic, menstrual blood is a straightforward tool of spell-casting. If you study folk-magic you will quickly learn that in virtually every culture there are spells that make use of ALL of our bodily effluvia and detritus, including the amniotic sac (caul) of a baby, spit, semen, tears, urine, feces, head hair, pubic hair, and nail clippings. In the light of the universality of bodily effluvia and detritus as tools of magic, the singling out of menstrual blood is more rationally approached on the basis of its intended EFFECT (generally spells of sex and love) than on the basis of its ORIGIN (female bodies). Pour some wine in the bowls. Each person start warming their bowl of wine over a candle. Add a pinch of cinnamon. Swirl the bowls to mix cinnamon while finishing the warming. Each person breathe into both bowls. Recite the following toast: "May the union of man and woman bring pleasure and happiness to both." Touch bowls. Drink. Put the energy from this vision into the candle. Then say out loud, We will always love each other. May the Goddess and God grant this for the good of all When problems arise in your relationship or you need self-confidence, take out the candle on a Friday during a waxing moon. Anoint it with love oil (Cabot doesn't specify a particular mix, so I guess it's up to the individual's discretion). Put some oil on your index finger, and beginning in the middle of the candle, run your finger to the wick end. Then repeat, rubbing the oil down to the bottom of the candle. Light the candle and let it burn down completely (in a safe place) and go out. ***** Though this spell does involve some pre-planning (by having previously charged the candle), I don't see why it shouldn't work by charging it and performing the spell shortly thereafter. The trick will be to summon up the appropriate feelings of love if you're not in a particularly loving kind of mood. Alfred Bester wrote this enchantment for DC's "Green Lantern" comics in 1943; it is the enchantment of an emerald ring by the power of a cosmic battery disguised in the form of an old railroad lantern and it is known as The Green Lantern Oath: In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight! Let those who worship evil's might, beware my power...Green Lantern's light!" There are hundreds of rhymed spells of enchantment used by the mystic magician Dr. Strange in the Marvel Comics series "Strange Tales" and "Dr. Strange." This one is by Roy Thomas, and appeared in the late 1960s: By the wisdom of Oshtur -- by the curse of Watoomb -- let the forces which threaten now know only doom! Now, let's remember that this is a site for the discussion of conjure, hoodoo, and rootwork, which is African American folk magic, not English folk magic. In hoodoo we do not use enchantments of this sort, but we do work heavily with personal concerns of the body. The soiled, worn, and dirty shirt is such a personal concern. It does not duplicate the more extensive material on "Personal Concerns" in "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic," but it will give you a glimpse into why NOT to wash the shirt. A) If you do want to make a doll, use the shirt-cloth (especially the sweaty underarm potions) to craft the doll. Stuff it with herbs and incense powders of love, control, and passion. If you are familiar with our products, you will understand why. After making, baptizing, and working with the doll by loving it up all over your body, wrap it tightly in your underpants and keep it hidden. Take it out and work with it in a sexual manner whenever you feel inclined to draw him closer. B) If you do not wish to make a doll, you may use a very old spell which simply consists of tying the shirt into a knot and burying it in your back yard so he will come to your place and not leave. You will need to pray over this work as you do it. This procedure is described more fully in my book "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic" in the section on "Personal Concerns." D) After you have threaded the hair into the hem of the shirt, rub it between your legs three times while praying for your desired outcome; see "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic" in the section on "Personal Concerns." The shirt is then ready to return to him. 7) Washing the shirt in water that contains some dissolved Come to Me and Love Me bath crystals and praying over it for love and then giving it back to him is a valid way of working, but ONLY after following steps 1 through 6 above. It is usually employed in cases where you regularly do a man's laundry. If the two of you live together, for instance, washing his clothes with a sprinkling of love bath crystals in the rinse water should become as second nature to you. If your your love target is resisting your work you can try this: 1) Red Candle with Cubebs Make a name paper of your target and fold a John the Conqueor in the paper. Place this under an overturned cup. Take a jumbo red candle or a 6 inch and carve it with their name, along with the command "unable to resist me." Dress this with Follow Me Boy/Girl then take Cubeb Berries and push them into the wax of the candle. You might need to use a nail to make small holes then stick the Cubeb Berries in them. Stud the candle with Cubeb Berries, then dust it with some Dill Seeds. Set this on the overturned cup and burn it down while praying for them to be unable to resist you any longer. 2) Red or Pink Adam and Eve Candles plus a Black Candle Another neat trick involves a moving candle spell. Take one each pink or red Adam and Eve candles. Carve them and load them. Dress them with Follow Me Boy/Girl, Love Me, and Compelling oil. Place a John the Conqueror root in front of the Adam candle and a Queen Elizabeth root in front of the Eve candle. Dress the John the Conqueror and the Queen Elizabeth and the two candles with your sexual fluids. Have the candles facing one another. Sprinkle Calamus, Rose petals, Juniper Berries, Damiana, and Catnip in a ring around the candles. Place this set up on your altar close to you. Behind this set up place an undressed 6 inch black candle. Carve "So and so's resistance" an the black candle. Behind your altar place a bucket of dirt gathered from a crossroads or water from a river. Light all your candles and pray that as the black candle is moved away that your target's resistance becomes less and less. Over 7 days move the black candle further and further back on your altar until you can push it off the back edge and into the bucket of dirt or water. Toss the remains of the black candle in a crossroads or a river, as appropriate, and bury the love candles at your front door to attract your lover.
